While most birthmarks are benign (noncancerous) and do not require treatment, it is crucial for babies with birthmarks to be examined and diagnosed by a healthcare provider. Additionally, it is important to note that the exact cause of why birthmarks develop is unknown. In some cases, they form due to factors such as abnormal development of blood vessels or melanocyte cells growing in clusters.
